Simiron 1000 HS Primer is a 100% solids, zero VOC, blush resistant and low viscosity epoxy primer that delivers excellent surface wetting, penetration and extended open time to promote adhesion. It’s ideal for use with other Simiron coatings, as well as, quartz and chip broadcast systems.

Dry Times @ 70 degrees:

• Recoat - 6 hours

Surface Prep: Bare Concrete: Bare concrete and primed concrete must be clean, dry and free of contaminates such as dirt, dust, grease, oil and other foreign materials. A suitable moisture barrier must be in place for concrete slabs on-grade. If a moisture vapor barrier is not in place, seasonal variations in ground moisture can cause excessive hydrostatic pressure regardless of results measured prior to coating application. Concrete should be shot blasted or diamond ground to a surface profile CSP 3 or 4.

Mixing: One gallon kit comes pre-measured and is ready to mix. Mix contents of each component thoroughly with low speed mixer. Then pour both Base and Activator into a clean five gallon mixing bucket and mix with high speed drill for 3 minutes, be sure that material is mixed thoroughly before using. There is no induction time required and material can be used immediately.

Pot-Life: Approximately 30 minutes measured @70°F and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures or humidity will shorten pot-life and working time.

Application:

• Squeegee – Flat rubber squeegee (depending upon DFT required) with EPDM rubber blade.
• Rollers – Use a 3/16” nap, woven, shed-resistant roller cover with phenolic core for back-rolling.

Pour mixed material onto floor in a long bead approximately 8-12 inches wide. Apply primer by flat squeegee at the rate of 200 – 500 ft²/gallon at 3 – 8 mils. Back-roll material and ensure that the coating is pore-free and pinhole-free and provides uniform and complete coverage over the entire concrete substrate. If necessary, apply an additional coat to ensure that the coating is pore-free and pinhole-free and provides uniform and complete coverage over the entire concrete substrate. Do not drain or scrape remaining material in bucket. 

Clean-up: Clean brushes, rollers, tools and equipment with lacquer thinner, acetone or xylene, follow solvent manufactures safety instructions.
