DRY TIME:
- TO TOUCH: 5-6 hours
- TO RECOAT: Overnight
COVERAGE: 300-600sq.ft./gallon
SHEEN: Semi-Gloss
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces to be finished must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease, scaling paint and mildew. Hard, glossy areas should be dulled with fine grit sandpaper to ensure proper adhesion. Always prime bare surfaces with the appropriate Benjamin Moore® Fresh Start® Primer. Apply 1-2 coats of the desired base coat color and allow to dry thoroughly before applying the paint / glaze mixture.
MIXING: Studio Finishes® Acrylic Glaze (N405) is designed to be intermixed with already-tinted Benjamin Moore® Aura® and Regal® premium interior paint. A 4:1 ratio of glaze to paint is a good starting point. Use more glaze for a more translucent effect; use less glaze for a
more opaque effect.APPLICATION: Immediately prior to use, stir Acrylic Glaze thoroughly. Avoid using a mechanical shaker as it may incorporate excess amounts of air. Mix the glaze with the desired color of Benjamin Moore® premium interior water-based paint as described above. The Glaze/Paint mixture can be applied using a variety of specialty finish tools or by brush, spray, or medium nap roller. Apply generously to an area that is small enough to allow you to complete your faux technique before the glaze begins to set up. Work quickly from section to section to prevent lab marks. On large surfaces is it often helpful to work in irregular shapes to disguise any laps or panel to panel variations. Acrylic glaze has good open time when mixed with paint, but if needed, add up to 16 oz. of Benjamin Moore® Glaze Extender (408) to a gallon of your Glaze/Paint mixture to increase open time. Since the final appearance of your project may be influenced by base color or the application technique, experiment first on an isolated area or sample board to be certain the desired effect is achieved. In most faux finishing techniques the application of the glaze with a brush, roller or by spray is not the final step as these application methods do not provide the desired texture. In the final step the wet glaze is commonly re-textured with a sponge, lint free rag, plastic bag, pouncing brush or other tool to create a uniform distribution and the finished texture. Note: Applying Studio Finishes® Acrylic Glaze (N405) or any clear latex finish over a fresh alkyd-based coating may cause premature yellowing of the base coat. For best results over alkyd-based paints, use Studio Finishes® Alkyd Glaze (409) mixed with an alkyd pain
Notes: DO NOT USE ALONE; Studio Finishes® Acrylic Glaze s must be intermixed with an interior acrylic paint. Applying Studio Finishes Acrylic Glaze (N405) over a fresh alkyd/oil based coating may cause premature yellowing of the basecoat. Do not apply Studio Finishes® Acrylic Glaze (N405) at temperatures below 50 °F (10 °C)

- Can be applied over latex and oil-based coatings
DRY TIME:
- TO TOUCH: 2-3 hours
- TO RECOAT: 8 hours
COVERAGE: 500-600sq.ft./gallon
SHEEN: Low Lustre
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces to be finished must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease, scaling paint and mildew. Hard, glossy areas should be dulled with fine grit sandpaper to ensure proper adhesion. New and Unpainted Plaster or Wallboard: Always prime surfaces with the appropriate Benjamin Moore ® Fresh Start ® primer.
MIXING: Studio Finishes® Alkyd Glaze (409) may be applied as received, tinted with up to 4.0 fl. oz. per gallon of Benjamin Moore® Color Preview® colorants, or intermixed with other Benjamin Moore® alkydbased products. Water-based paint and enamels are not compatible with Studio Finishes® Alkyd Glaze (409).
APPLICATION: Immediately prior to use, stir Studio Finishes® Alkyd Glaze (409). For best results, use a Benjamin Moore® custom-blended china bristle brush, Benjamin Moore® roller, or a similar product. This product can also be sprayed. For specialty finish applications, apply over a limited area, working in sections and stopping at natural break off points to avoid lapping. Since the final appearance of your project will be influenced by base color and the application technique, experiment first on an isolated area or sample board to be certain the desired effect is achieved. In most faux finishing techniques the application of the glaze with a brush, roller or by spray is not the final step as these application methods do not provide the desired texture. In the final step the wet glaze is commonly retextured with a sponge, lint free rag, plastic bag, pouncing brush or other tool to create a uniform distribution and the finished texture. Note: All alkyd-based enamels experience a certain amount of yellowing. This effect is accelerated in dark or poorly ventilated areas. If this will produce an unwanted result, then use Studio Finishes® Latex Glaze (405) for your project.
NOTE: Do not apply when air and surface temperatures are below 50 °F (10 °C).
