Rust Scat Polyurethane Enamel is a rust-preventative coating that delivers exceptional hardness and durability. Formulated with a urethane-modified alkyd resin, it can be applied to interior or exterior ferrous or non-ferrous metals. (Not intended for use over galvanized metal. Rust Scat semi-gloss polyurethane enamel is formulated to offer a high quality, durable finish on interior or exterior metal surfaces where a rust preventative coating is needed. The wetting characteristics of this product allow for use on less than ideal surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces must be clean and free of grease, wax, and mildew. Remove any chalk and loose or scaling paint. If previously coated with cement-base waterproofing paints, clean by sandblasting. Glossy surfaces must be dulled. Primers: New surfaces should be fully primed. Previously painted surfaces should be primed or spot primed as necessary. There are a number of specialty primers available in our family of brands that can be used on difficult substrates such as bleeding woods, hard glossy surfaces, or other substrates where paint adhesion or stain blocking is a problem. Your dealer can recommend the right problem solving primer necessary to meet your needs.
APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly with a circular, lifting motion to secure even pigment dispersion.
- Roller – Use a short nap mohair cover.
- Brush – Use a natural hair bristle brush for best results.
- Spray – May be sprayed using conventional or airless equipment.
- Airless: Tip — .015-.019 Orifice.
Thinning is not recommended. Apply only when surface and air temperatures are between 45 °F and 95 °F (7.2 °C to 35 °C). Do not apply if rain is threatening or if the temperature is within 5 degrees of the dew point and falling.
