Coverage: 400-500 sq.ft./gal
Dry Times:
- To touch: 4-6 hours
- Recoat: 16 hours
Surface Preparation: Surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, soap, wax, scaling paint, water soluble materials, and mildew. Remove any peeling or scaling paint and sand these areas to feather edges smooth with adjacent surfaces. Glossy areas should be dulled. Drywall surfaces must be free of sanding dust. New plaster or masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure before applying base coat. Cured plaster should be hard, have a slight sheen and maximum PH of 10; soft, porous or powdery plaster indicates improper cure. Never sand a plaster surface; knife off any protrusions and prime plaster before and after applying patching compound. Poured or pre-cast concrete with a very smooth surface should be etched or abraded to promote adhesion, after removing all form release agents and curing compounds. Remove any powder or loose particles before priming. Wood substrates must be thoroughly dry.
Priming: New surfaces should be fully primed, and previously painted surfaces may be primed or spot primed as necessary.
Note: Although Advance yellows less than conventional alkyds, a slight amount of yellowing may occur. This effect is accelerated in dark or poorly ventilated areas and is more visible in lighter colors.
Application: Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply one or two coats. For best results, use a premium nylon/polyester brush and/or premium microfiber roller. Apply paint generously from unpainted area into wet area. This product can also be sprayed.

Awesome paint for cabinets, trim, furniture, etc.
Benjamin Moore Advance is a teriffic paint for anything that's high traffic. We used this for our kitchen cabinets in the color White Dove (an off white), and the results are amazing.we plan to use it for trim, wainscoting doors, and more in the future. I brushed and rolled the face frames, and this paint levels beautifully. No brush strokes, and no texture left by my 1/4 nap roller. I sprayed the doors, and again the results were amazing. I thinned the paint with just a few drops of water, and the results from my $70 Wagner sprayer look like like the results from a sprayer that costs 10x as much. Southern Paint and Supply was great too, fast free shipping and a good price on the paint!

Benjamin Moore Advance Satin
I just finished putting on the second coat. I won't know how it will be until after it finishes curing but I have high hopes. It really is low VOC: only once did I catch even a whiff of paint odor. It went on easily with a roller and dried to the touch even faster than advertised (but I live in New Mexico and the humidity yesterday was 12%; your mileage may vary). Even the first coat looked good and I don't consider myself a particularly skilled painter. I'd never painted kitchen cabinets before, either. Drops of wet paint were easy to remove from the ceramic tile floor. Oh, and the color Southern Paint and Supply tinted it is lovely, and the paint came fast and arrived in good condition.
