FlameGuard Fire Retardant Paint Additive is an easy-to-use additive designed to provide fire-retardant properties to compatible latex coatings without requiring a specialty fire-retardant paint. Simply mix FlameGuard into latex paint at the recommended ratio before application. An 8 oz jar treats 1 gallon of paint, while a 1-gallon jug treats up to 16 gallons of paint, making FlameGuard practical for everything from individual projects to larger commercial applications. Liquid Flame Guard is a revolutionary liquid fire retardant additive that mixes with latex coatings to provide Class A fire protection on interior surfaces. FlameGuard has been tested to ASTM E84 and ULC-S102 standards for surface burning characteristics when used as directed with compatible coatings. It meets the Both UL 723, NFPA 255 and UBC 42-1: Class A. Mix one 8 oz. bottle per gallon of paint. FLAME GUARD LIQUID IS NOT INTUMESCENT, meaning it is not a foam.  It works by suffocating the substrate from the flame — therefore, if there is no oxygen for the flame, there is no fire. For contractors, property managers, commercial facilities and other projects requiring fire-retardant coating performance, FlameGuard provides a convenient way to incorporate fire-retardant properties into a latex coating system.
